Oatmeal 100% Linen Fabric is a medium weight linen in a very contemporary earthen tone, this fabric has a fine close weave with subtle slubs throughout, adding to its natural look and feel. The fabric is smooth to touch and has a soft drape; it will pleat, pintuck and gather beautifully. This linen will become even softer over time through wash and wear. It will pair well with other neutral tones, black or white, to create a timeless wardrobe essential.

This fabric is what I was hoping for. The colour is brilliant and the fabric weight is perfect for my project. The edges will fray so I have some excellent braid to keep those strands in line!
I have had a pattern in mind and made a toile first to check the fit before I washed the linen to start sewing. As soon as it was dry I realised just how beautifully soft this material is to handle. Not at all stiff and I found myself just looking at the sweet pattern and the rich colouring of the weave for quite sometime. Pieces are now cut and sewing will start on the weekend. I feel so privelidged to be able to use such beautiful fabric for my sewing project. It is really delightful.
